RAD-AID International and the Society of Breast Imaging are pleased to announce a new partnership designed to strengthen breast imaging in resource-poor and low-resource hospitals in medically underserved regions. To increase access to medical imaging services for breast imaging globally, RAD-AID and SBI are collaborating to offer funded opportunities to support SBI members interested in volunteering in underserved regions of the world. Participants will join RAD-AID’s project teams in international initiatives designed to improve access to breast imaging for populations in need.
Additional volunteer opportunities with RAD-AID Breast Imaging are available that include distance education and web conferences within RAD-AID’s existing global network.
You are eligible to apply if you are an active member of SBI and have no material conflicts of interest
- Once selected, RAD-AID SBI Global Outreach Volunteers must sign and accept any and all release forms provided by RAD-AID.
After completing travel as a RAD-AID SBI Global Outreach Volunteer, you are required to:
- Submit a report to RAD-AID on objectives completed and future recommendations
- Submit to SBI a publication-ready article which summarizes the project and/or your experience, a brief communication on your experience and pictures for social media purposes, an abstract for an oral presentation or poster for an SBI-sponsored conference, and/or a project summary report.
- Submit to RAD-AID an application or abstract to provide an oral presentation or poster of the project at the annual RAD-AID Conference on Global Health Radiology for Low-Resource Regions, a brief communication on your experience and pictures for social media purposes, and/or a project summary report.
