Emily Lenzen, MS, RDMS (Abd, Ob/Gyn, Pediatrics), RVT, RMSKS

Director, RAD-AID Laos

Emily began her journey with RAD-AID in 2017 as she embarked on a six-week long trip to Lanug Prabang, Laos at the Friends Hospital for Children. This trip changed her life as she developed valuable relationships that have shaped her career and the manner in which she gives back to my profession. She is passionate about pediatrics and spent nearly 10 years scanning kiddos in the Denver metro area. She loves the connection with the patients as well as with families and care givers. Each story is unique and pediatric ultrasound is utilized as a diagnosis tool, elevating the care of a patient. Because of this, Emily feels fortunate to work with RAD-AID International coordinating volunteers for our pediatric projects around the globe. She has extensive global health experience in Malawi, New Zealand, Qatar, and Nepal. In addition to leading the RAD-AID Laos program, Emily works with the ultrasound committee to develop, articulate and support educational goals for individual country project needs.

Cara Hill, BS, RDMS (Abd, Ob/Gyn, Pediatrics), RVT, RT (R)

Program Manager, RAD-AID Laos

Cara Hill joined RAD-AID as a volunteer in 2021 after being introduced by a fellow colleague at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. She has been a sonographer for 6 years, specializing in pediatrics, and an educator for 3 years, teaching for sonography programs in Northern Virginia and Northeastern Pennsylvania. Cara quickly learned that volunteering with RAD-AID allows the demonstration of several important values including commitment, engagement, compassion, empathy, and respect for others. She has traveled to Lilongwe, Malawi and Luang Prabang, Laos with RAD-AID, and is part of the Laos program leadership team as a program manager. As a program manager, Cara works closely with the other members of the management team coordinating volunteers and providing extensive support to the radiology department at Lao Friends Hospital for Children in Laos. One thing Cara admires most about RAD-AID International is the strong and persistent relationships that are created between volunteers and the individuals in the countries that are served.
