Volunteer with RAD-AID Philippines
Launched in 2026, the RAD-AID Philippines program aims to support radiation oncology education and capacity building.
- The Philippines is an archipelago and a low-middle-income country in Southeast Asia with a growing cancer burden.
- Access to specialized resources, equipment, and training remain concentrated in the National Capital Region (Manila).
RAD-AID Philippines – Program Goals
- The program’s first initiative focuses on radiation oncology resident education by developing online learning modules hosted on the RAD-AID Learning Center.
- These modules are designed to strengthen radiation oncology residents’ confidence and competency in evaluating treatment plans across multiple techniques, including 3D conformal radiation, intensity-modulated radiation, volumetric arc therapy, stereotactic body radiation, and stereotactic radiosurgery.
- A second initiative seeks to identify radiology and radiation oncology departments outside the National Capital Region that are interested in partnership and prepared to submit a readiness assessment.
