As a participant in this program, your role can include teaching, clinical support, equipment implementation, assessments, image-quality, patient safety, informatics, business education, and much more. Each RAD-AID team has a mix of expertise and backgrounds to deliver multidisciplinary outreach to medically underserved communities across the globe. The program leverages Envision’s vast experience and talented staff as a leading health care provider with RAD-AID’s 14+ years of increasing and improving radiology in over 90+ low-resource hospitals in over 40 countries.

RAD-AID provides support for your travel logistics and gives you pre-project orientation so that you can learn about the country, region and hospital where you will be serving. RAD-AID’s pre-trip orientation and preparation also give you the opportunity to talk with your team members and our program leaders, who are from among the 12,000+ volunteers in RAD-AID’s network.

Some of the slots in the RAD-AID Envision Global program offer partial or complete funding support for your travel expenses, so we encourage you to apply early. If funded positions are all filled, we also offer self-funded slots in which your coverage of the travel expenses counts as a donation to RAD-AID.

Travel time, project duration, and the location of your project are flexible to fit your busy schedule. Our brief online application helps us to learn about your interests, availability, and objectives so that we can match you to the best project for linking your skills to the needs of our partner hospitals in low and middle-income countries.

We plan our programs and team objectives based on RAD-AID’s Radiology-Readiness assessments in order to analyze the existing resources at a health institution and identify high-yield goals for these institutions so that RAD-AID programs offer targeted solutions to fill the gaps between those resources and goals. Your participation in a RAD-AID team as part of the RAD-AID Envision Global Program is an important part of that solution.
