The RAD-AID Certificate in Global Health Radiology is adapted from the previous Certificate of Proficiency in Global Health Radiology and Radiation Oncology. This redesigned course has been updated to reflect the latest edition of the RAD-AID Textbook: Global Health Radiology, 3rd edition.
Holders of the RAD-AID Certificate of Proficiency in Global Health Radiology and Radiation Oncology are considered to have fulfilled the equivalent requirements of this newly redesigned course, and their certificate remains valid.
RAD-AID Certificate in Global Health Radiology 
RAD-AID is pleased to offer structured training to radiology – diagnostic imaging, radiation oncology, nuclear medicine – professionals (MDs, technologists, therapists, medical dosimetrists, sonographers, medical physicists, nurses, administrators, educators, etc.) interested in receiving instruction and guidance for conducting global health radiology projects.
Successful participants in this program will receive a Certificate of Completion in Global Health Radiology from RAD-AID International, which can be a strong life-long credential for demonstrating the skills and knowledge necessary for designing, implementing, and participating in global health radiology outreach.
About the Program
The program consists of two core parts:
- A facilitated, six-month interactive, asynchronous online learning course with instruction from RAD-AID’s published textbook on Global Health Radiology and additional resources.
- Project planning, implementation, and participation under RAD-AID’s supervision and mentorship – so that you can carry out global health radiology outreach work.
Please note, no CE/CME or credits are awarded for the completion of this program. Successful learners will receive a certificate of completion from RAD-AID International.
Application requirements
During your application process, you will be asked to provide a brief description of your professional background and your interest in global health radiology. The use of AI to generate texts (ex: answers to essay questions) will disqualify your application.
RAD-AID will equally require your contact information. Please make sure to include your name and correct contact details. Participants will be contacted via e-mail only.
Successful completion of the program entails:
- Successful completion of the online course component
- Completion of a global health radiology project within 3 years of successfully completing the online course
- Global health radiology projects can include online, on-site, or a combination of online and on-site work. Options will be reviewed with you at the completion of the online course.
At the completion of this Certificate program, learners will have gained an essential understanding of issues affecting radiology and radiology capacity-building in the world. Learners will equally gain fundamental global health knowledge in public health and project planning to carry out a global health radiology initiative.
Getting Started 
The administrative and instructional fee for the program is $999. There will be additional costs related to purchasing the required textbook, travel, project planning, and implementation. RAD-AID will provide guidance to potential resources and fundraising mechanisms for project completion; however, the creation and fulfillment of a travel budget is part of the project learning experience for participants. The syllabus and materials are available to participants through the RAD-AID Learning Center.
Up to five (5) scholarships are available to applicants from LMICs, which cover the cost of the course fees and textbook. These scholarships ensure that all members of the global health community have access.
The course will run from April to October. The course drop date is April 30th, and no refunds will be granted past the drop date. A non-refundable deposit of $200, which will be deducted from your course fee, is due by enrollment to reserve your seat in the cohort.

Please note that the use of AI to generate texts (ex: answer essay questions) will disqualify your application. RAD-AID uses AI detection software to identify AI contributions to texts and therefore, your application may be disqualified if AI has been detected in writing your answers and you will not be notified of this disqualification.
