Volunteer with RAD-AID South Pacific

RAD-AID Partners in Rarotonga, Cook Islands

Rarotonga is one of 15 islands of the Cook Islands, located in the South Pacific and home to nearly 75% of the country’s population. Despite the appeal of the island as a prime touristic destination, health disparities and climate change make Pacific island countries such as Rarotonga (Cook Islands) excessively vulnerable.

Based on Radiology Readiness, RAD-AID South Pacific has outlined goals with their partner hospital in Rarotonga: 1) Strengthen technologist/sonographer education and skills in ultrasoundCT, and Radiography 2) Strengthen education and skills for clinicians in POCUS, 3) provide continued educational resources to radiographers, and 4) work with the hospital to identify a pathway to strengthen access to mammography.
