Eduardo Bent Robinson, MD
Director, RAD-AID Nepal
Dr. Eduardo Bent Robinson is originally from San Andrés Island, Colombia, where his father served as a radiologist for a large, resource-limited population. Growing up, Dr. Bent Robinson witnessed firsthand the ingenuity and dedication required to deliver high-quality radiologic care using limited resources—ranging from X-ray to CT and ultrasound.
An immigrant to the United States during his teenage years, Dr. Bent Robinson pursued his passion for medicine, underserved communities, and culturally competent care throughout his academic journey. As a medical student, these values naturally drew him to global health.
Dr. Bent Robinson remains committed to advancing informatics, education, fellowship development, research, sub-specialty training, technology infrastructure, and bidirectional learning with partners at TUTH among other initiatives.
Phil Asamoah, MD
Program Manager, RAD-AID Nepal
The son of Ghanaian immigrants, Phil Asamoah was born in Accra and lived in various parts of England and the U.S. growing up before his family relocated to Indiana in 1999 where his father has been practicing as an endocrinologist over the years.
Directly witnessing the hard work and sacrifice of his parents and gaining exposure to health science in high school were the primary motivating factors that inspired Phil to decide to pursue a career in medicine. Phil completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University in 2013, his combined medical and business school education at the University of Michigan in 2018, his transitional year internship at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in 2019, his residency training at the University of Colorado in 2023, and his fellowship training in both adult and pediatric musculoskeletal radiology at the end of 2024. He is currently a private practice musculoskeletal radiologist based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Given his international background and participation in RAD-AID during his time in residency, initially traveling to Nepal in the fall of 2022, Phil has maintained his involvement with RAD-AID beyond medical training as a member of the Nepal management team. He is committed to providing high-quality patient care and education, engaging in cross-cultural collaboration, and improving global access to vital imaging services.
