Radiology is vital medical imaging (x-ray, CT, ultrasound, MRI, etc.) essential for healthcare. Over half the world lacks radiology, impacting diagnosis and treatment of cancer, heart disease, infections, trauma, maternal-infant complications, and much more. RAD-AID brings radiology to low-resource areas by delivering education, equipment, infrastructure, and support.

"“RAD-AID has brought important awareness about MRI Safety measures to be taken during MRI procedures because before only few people had this safety knowledge, especially in developing countries in which this a bit new technology. I am very grateful for this safety initiatives introduced by RAD-AID and I hope frequent trainings will be very helpful to the old and new technologists for the best service delivery.”"
Medard Mallya, Muhimbili National Hospital, Chief Technologist- MRI
"Things are happening so fast that I feel like am in a fairy tale of some kind. It is less than four months since we started the radiological services at NSK [Tanzania], but the exposure and support of the RAD-AID has been tremendous…We are being transformed daily...The way Doris or Matt [RAD-AID volunteers] speaks or works is far humble and impressive."
Dr. Himidi, RAD-AID Tanzania in-country partner
"Our Governing Council was thoroughly impressed with the impact of RAD-AID on the global practice of radiology and medical imaging outreach."
American Medical Association (AMA), 2013

"The technologists here [Ethiopia] took me in and treated me like family. I have never been so well taken of and so appreciated...These are people who will be my friends forever. We are all alike, no matter where we are or where we come from. Each day we strive to make our lives, the lives of our children and the lives of those around us better than the day before."
Bart Pierce, RAD-AID Ethiopia volunteer
