The RAD-AID Midwifery and Women’s Health Point of Care Ultrasound Program is rooted in the passion, desire, and need to improve maternal-fetal health outcomes, through the empowerment and education of midwives, skilled birth attendants, and women’s healthcare providers. Under the leadership of Diana Dowdy, DNP, CNM, RDMS, FACNM, this program directly contributes to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, therefore impacting global health in a substantial way.
RAD-AID’s initiatives and programs have been involved in providing support and education to midwives and skilled birth attendants for a number of years. RAD-AID is committed to supporting and mentoring midwives, skilled birth attendants, and women’s healthcare providers with a variety of skill sets.
An important focus of RAD-AID’s Midwifery and Women’s Point of Care Ultrasound Program is education designed to assure competency and effectiveness of the use of obstetric and women’s health point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). The use of a globally-vetted, sustainable training and certification process enables providers to offer enhanced care for vulnerable women and babies.
