The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill RAD-AID Chapter
The UNC-Chapel Hill Chapter was founded by the UNC School of Medicine's Division of Radiologic Science. A main focus of the group is a team approach to radiology in global health, and all members of the UNC-CH community are welcome.
Mission
The mission of the UNC-Chapel Hill RAD-AID chapter is:
-to increase radiology's contribution to sustainable global health initiatives.
-to develop long-term educational relationships with international partner organizations.
Current Projects
September 2013
UNC RAD-AID site visit in Lilongwe, Malawi
Objectives: The team will establish an educational partnership with the Malawi College of Health Sciences Radiography Programme. Also, the team intends to conduct a Radiology Readiness survey at Kamuzu Central Hospital. UNC has a longstanding relationship with Malawi: www.med.unc.edu/infdis/malawi/ UNC RAD-AID is looking forward to contributing to the UNC-Malawi Project.

Lecture Series for Student Technologists
Objective: This lecture series integrated a global health perspective along with an analysis of the United States health system. The goal was to give student technologists an awareness of radiology in the international environment and allow them to see the importance of the radiologic technologist in sustainable radiology initiatives.
