Haiti Update

• Ryan and Carrie will be participating in a site visit to Sacre Coeur hospital in Haiti this January through the support of the CRUDEM foundation.

• The trip will allow further on the ground experience which will be integral to planning for a more long term elective opportunity in Haiti.

• There will be an educational conference during the time of their trip where Ryan and Carrie will have the opportunity to give presentations on imaging topics.

• A live videoconference with faculty at Duke during the trip may help to test out the technologic capabilites of providing a web-based curriculum to Haiti.

• Experience with attendees of the conference will also help to further identify where to focus our educational efforts to meet the needs of the community.

   

Global Health Textbook

• The global health imaging textbook is in need of section editors. Please contact Matt or Rod if you are interested in participating in this exciting opportunity.

China Update

• Drs. Maxfield and Petrella will return to China in December for another site visit as part of their efforts in developing a formalized resident training curriculum through collaboration with several major hospitals in China.

    

RAD-AID Chapter Program Development

• Ron and EJ are working with the national RAD-AID organization to help develop their chapters program. There is a small fee to start a chapter as well as alotted web space on the national RAD-AID website.
